Soccer has Been My Favorite Sport to Watch Since I Was Six
Soccer has been my favorite sport to watch since I was a mere six years old. Distant memories of watching the world cup at my uncle's house still fly through my mind. It’s amazing how soccer players are able to work together and score consecutive goals against an opposing team with equally matched or more skillful players. Although my brother and I are two and a half years apart, I’m taller than him; in addition, we have quite a lot in common. We like many of the same foods, we enjoy the same video games, and a passion for soccer is one that we both share.
At age Ten, He and I Began Playing Indoor Soccer
At age ten, he and I began playing Indoor soccer. It was a bit challenging for me because I had a hard time staying caught up with all my classes. Eventually, staying caught up with all my classes became too difficult for me; I just didn't think of soccer as the career for me at the time, so I chose music over sports. Oleg, my brother, stayed nonetheless and got signed onto a soccer club in Portland, called PCU. Although he wasn't very successful in that club, but he did gain some experience. Soon enough, he got bored of losing all the time and decided to quit the club.
Several years Later, Oleg Joined the Vancouver Timbers
Several years later, Oleg joined the Vancouver Timbers; a soccer club in which he was not only successful and had many friends in, but one he actually enjoyed playing for. Not long after he became a part of the team, they became county champions. He was scoring goals in no time; several which earned the team some important victories. Unfortunately, my brother suffered an injury that forced him to, once again, quit the team.
It just Sucks When You're Kept from Doing What You Love
Within months after his resign, the team joined up with Portland Timbers, received New jerseys and formed the Timbers Alliance. I felt sorry for him because he couldn't play; it just sucks when you’re kept from doing what you love. Now that the injury has finally healed, my brother is starting to play again. He wants to play for the school for now, but says he might end up joining the Vancouver Timbers again. Oleg’s ability to get back up after everything life throws at him inspires and urges me to continue following my dreams.
The friends I Made Weren't the Best to Hang Around
Back in seventh grade, the friends I made weren't the best people to have around; as a result, their actions began reflection on me and I became a bad person. When I saw everything my brother was accomplishing, I took a glance at my own life. Disappointed to find I had done close to nothing with my life, I worked hard to complete five years of music school with flying colors and earn my diploma.
My Brother is My Best Friend
I can’t imagine life without my brother; he’s been a big help in my development as a person. Oleg helps me out whenever possible, he drives me wherever I need to go; even if he’s busy with something else. He puts others above the needs of himself as often as he can and that’s one of the qualities I admire most about him. My brother is my best friend and I am forever in his debt.
